Prices continued to fall across most urea markets this week, with limited buyer participation weighing on liquidity. India re-entered the market midweek, issuing a tender for 1.7mn t of urea for shipment by 20 July. The tender closes on 8 June. China has allocated some urea export quotas, but volumes, timing and company details remain unclear, with more clarity expected after an industry meeting next week. North African prices declined to $600-650/t fob, pressured by growing resistance from European buyers. In the Black Sea, Socar sold granular urea at $555/t fob Batumi for June shipment. Nigeria’s Dangote sold a further 120,000t of granular urea to Ethiopia for June–July shipment, doubling last week’s sales to 240,000t. Brazilian granular urea prices fell further to around $580/t cfr on latest business. Offers to Argentina fell to $610-640/t cfr, with no buying interest reported. In the US, Nola urea prices dropped by nearly $80/st this week on domestic headwinds relating to weather, affordability and timing.
